Unfortunately, because our inventory is fairly small in comparison to the entire student base of the WdKA, the extension of a rental period is not preferred. We do, however, want you to be able to finish your project properly, so to extend a rental you can do the following:
To extend a rental: Try and book the same device on the day after you were supposed to return it. Upon checking out please check ‘Yes’ under the header ‘Extension’. As an example: I have to return a Zoom H5 on Tuesday the 14th but I'm not finished just yet. To prolong my rental I'll try and book the same device with a pick-up date on the 15th.
If your extension was denied you need to return the equipment on the date you originally picked. If the device you want to extend is not available then you obviously need to return it on the original return date as well.
Rules surrounding extensions
- Extending equipment is only possible once. After that a cooling down period of one week is assigned to your name for that specific device. In other words: upon return you will not be allowed to rent the same device for a week.}
Exceptions to this rule are Wacom digital pens and Arduinos. - Extensions cannot be placed until three days before the return date.
- Do not request equipment and an extension in the same order because we will cancel your entire order, and you’ll be left with nothing. The reason why you can’t request equipment and an extension in one is that it denies an equal opportunity to your fellow students to use the equipment.
- Requests for an extension placed earlier than three days before the due date will be denied immediately.
Please refrain from coming up with constructions that bypass the rules stated above. Not only is it extremely annoying for us, it’s also plainly antisocial towards your fellow students.
